After a long 18hr journey we finally touched down in Kuala Lumpur. Tired and wet (thanks to the afternoon downpour) we were ready for some good food. Our hostel, The Explorers’ Guesthouse, is conveniently located on the edge of China Town; ideal for finding an array of delicious street food stalls.
The next day we headed to Batu Caves, a Hindu temple, and climbed the 272 steps to the cave’s entrance.
We also visited the KL Bird Park which has the world’s largest walk-in free-flight aviary. We saw a wide variety of birds including Great Hornbills, Parrots and Cassowaries.
Next stop: Bukit Lawang, Sumatra
